Movely ("we", "our", or "the app") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting merchant data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you install or use the Movely Shopify App. By installing or using Movely, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Movely only collects the minimum data required to provide its services.
Shopify Store Data
When you install the app, we may access the following Shopify data only when required for migration operations:
- Products, variants, collections
- Blogs, pages, articles
- Media files (images)
- Metafields
- Store domain and shop identifier
We do not access customer personal data (such as customer names, emails, or addresses) unless explicitly required by a selected migration feature.
Account & Usage Information
- Shopify store URL (shop domain)
- App subscription plan and usage limits
- Import/export job logs and progress data
- Error logs related to migration processes
2. How We Use Your Data
We use collected data only to:
- Perform import and export operations you explicitly start
- Display migration progress, warnings, and results
- Enforce plan-based usage limits
- Provide rollback (revert) functionality
- Improve app reliability and performance
- Provide support when you contact us
We never use merchant data for advertising, marketing, or analytics outside the scope of the app.
3. Data Sharing
Movely does not sell, rent, or share merchant data with third parties.
Data is shared only when strictly necessary to operate the app, such as:
- Secure cloud infrastructure providers (for hosting and storage)
- Error monitoring services (only technical error data, no store content)
All third-party services comply with industry-standard security practices.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
- Imported/exported data is processed temporarily during migration.
- Job logs and references to created resources are stored to support rollback and history.
- Merchants can request data deletion at any time.
When you uninstall the app:
- Access tokens are revoked
- Store-specific data is scheduled for deletion according to our retention policy

5. Data Security
We take security seriously and implement appropriate safeguards:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS)
- Restricted access to production systems
- Secure authentication with Shopify OAuth
- Regular monitoring and error handling
Despite our efforts, no system is 100% secure. If a security issue is detected, affected merchants will be notified promptly.
6. Merchant Control & Transparency
You are always in control:
- You choose what to import or export
- You can preview data before migration
- You can cancel operations at any time
- You can fully roll back imported data
Movely never performs actions on your store without your explicit request.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements or app functionality.
When updates are made:
- The "Last updated" date will be revised
- Significant changes will be communicated in-app if required
